Isossy Children meets The founders of The KidsNetwork
Isossy Children was so excited to learn about the amazing work that the KidsNetwork does for parents and their children in Australia (we're really reaching across the world with our networks). We meet Rebecca and Brooke and learn how the KidsNetwork helps parents with a range of issues relating to child development.
What inspired you to
start your business?
Rebecca was inspired to start KidsNetwork as a result of her
personal experience of managing a child with learning and developmental
issues. Brooke was inspired by a desire
to assist families beyond school with strategies for the home.
What have been your
favourite client experiences?
Our favourite client experiences are meeting with kids for
the first time during the in home consultation. Their responses are
refreshingly honest. We also love it
when a child experiences success – often for the first time. It is a WOW moment
for them.
What advice would you
give to someone starting up in your industry?
Expect resistance from within the industry. In our experience families embrace change
faster than institutions and practitioners.
What are your long
term goals?
To be a national service to families all over Australia
Isossy Children
celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think
diversity matters for every generation?
In our business we see kids with differences every day –
they are part of the diverse fabric of schools across the nation. Embracing their diversity is critical to
understanding others and learning from them. Instead of seeing difference as a
negative we see it as something that needs to be celebrated, and it is
encouraging to see this slow shift over the generations.
What words of wisdom
do you think every child should grow up knowing?
That they are unique, that they have many strengths and are
loved.

Natrice |
What inspired you to start your business?
I wanted the flexibility to be able to work from home whilst
my children are still young.
What have been your favourite client experiences?
We are lucky to have two types of clients. The clients that
sell on our online marketplace and the clients that buy. We call them our
Community and are very lucky to have a very engaged and supportive community
behind us.
What advice would you give to someone starting up in your
industry?
To do a lot of research. Never think that you can start a
web based business without knowing the ins and outs. There is a lot of ground
to cover and we are continually learning daily. Because the game plan keeps
changing you need to be flexible enough to move with the times.
What are your long term goals?
We hope to expand into New Zealand and other countries in
the future. As well as develop a mentoring program for small business start-ups
as part of our supporting the community vision.
Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing
for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
Absolutely. Having the ability to be diverse offers you
experiences and knowledge outside of your environment. It allows you to grow
and develop because you have had more exposure.
What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up
knowing?
If you think you can, you can! Be the best you can and love
what you do. The most important thing to be is Happy!

Isossy Children meets Caroline Africh, the founder of Things 4 Bubs
Isossy Children takes a trip to the shores of Sunny Australia to meet Caroline Africh, a mumpreneur,
business woman, writer and blogger. Caroline founded Things 4 Bubs, an online retail
and distribution company, when deciding to pursue passion over the corporate
world after the birth of her son Henry. On a daily basis, Caroline spends her
time between running the online business, dealing with suppliers, and looking
for expansion opportunities. Caroline is a regular contributor to Aspire
Magazine, a member of the CEO Blog Nation Council, and also writes her own
entrepreneur blog.
What inspired you to start your business?
I am a banker-cum-mumpreneur who is currently learning how
to juggle work, life and a toddler! Having spent the last 10 years building a
career as a Project Manager in London, I decided to pursue passion over the corporate
world after the birth of my son Henry in 2011. Hence, Things 4 Bubs was born. Things
4 Bubs is the sole distributor of Attipas functional toddler shoes in Australia
and New Zealand. Things 4 Bubs also manages the online site Attipas Australia,
www.attipas.com.au.
What have been your favourite client experiences?
Hearing positive feedback from each and every client! The
shoes have a bit of a cult following with many people trying a pair, then
coming back for 3 or 4 more!
What advice would you give to someone starting up in your
industry?
Plan carefully (money, timings, goals, etc) but don’t get
too caught up with the finer details. Trust your gut and go where your mind
takes you. The world is your oyster.
What are your long term goals?
Attipas toddler shoes to be the number 1 choice of toddler
shoes in Australia, stocking in all major retails and independent stores.
Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing
for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
Each child needs appreciate uniqueness as the world is a
unique place. ‘Sheep’ mentality and culture is everywhere in Australia though
not something to be celebrated.
What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up
knowing?
Love yourself and others will love you.
