Isossy Children meets Ollie Owl

In this week's profile we meet the inspirational Tania Beattie, founder of Ollie Owl, an exciting pillow brand for children! We all know how important a good night's sleep is for children and adults alike and Ollie Owl is paving the way in creating a superb product for children and their parents to celebrate!
What inspired you to start your business?
My business, Ollie Owl, originated because I wanted to spend as much time as possibly with my son when he was born. But it wasn’t until my son got a bit bigger and one night while he was sleeping in my bed and stealing my pillow that I thought “what pillow am I going to buy him when he needs one?” I had always slept on a contoured pillow and knew the benefits they had on my wellbeing and especially the quality of my sleep. So I wanted my son to have the same benefits of a pillow that I had been getting.

What have been your favourite client experiences?
Hearing stories about children who have slept on one of our pillows and had better night’s sleep, headaches disappear, sleeping through the night to name a few things.  Parents are so grateful to us for giving their children the quality of sleep they need as they grow and children love the idea of their very own Ollie Owl pillow. I even hear of kids walking around the house with their pillow not wanting to let them go.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?
Have a plan, you don’t have to stick to 100% but if you don’t have a plan you tend to divert and your vision can sometimes come very blurred.

What are your long term goals?
I love the thought that all children where getting a better night’s sleep on an Ollie Owl pillow. If not all children sleeping on one of our pillows then I just love the idea that all children and parents are getting the best quality sleep they can. Because let’s face it sleep is one of the most vital roles in the wellbeing of everyone.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
Diversity matters because people matter. I like to think that we all have differences and embracing the differences in all of us is what will make future generations grow. I see the difference from my childhood to my son’s childhood. I grew up in a small country town with mainly white Australians he is growing up where he has cousin’s who are a different nationality to him, his school is an international one, he plays with children with different cultures to him and I believe he will be much the wiser for it.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
Be yourself and you can achieve anything.
