Isossy Children loves pretty things and so when we met Davina Timoll at The Create in Kingston Festival with all of her lovely designs we thought we would profile her on the blog! Have a read and be inspired!
What inspired you to
start your business?
I have always wanted to have a creative career, even when I
was young I wanted to work in the field of design. Once I embarked on my design studies I had a
strong yearning to make my own jewellery collection; intricacy and detail
inspired me. I admire anyone that has
the guts to go it alone and start their own business.

What have been your
favourite client experiences?
Seeing their faces when a piece has been completed for them
and knowing that they like my design so much that they want to have it on their
person. Also, receiving praise for new
collections.
What advice would you
give to someone starting up in your industry?
Know yourself – by that I mean have the confidence to believe
in what you are building/creating. Be
super organised and don’t be afraid to put a value on your time and work. Enter
into the industry with an open mind. Try
not to judge yourself against others in the same industry.

What are your long
term goals?
To set up a social enterprise whereby I am providing a
creative service to people of all ages by teaching them jewellery, design
making and design process. To continue
my own jewellery/design range and keep developing new collections each year.

Isossy Children
celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think
diversity matters for every generation?
It matters because it opens the mind to new
possibilities. Diversity is about
celebrating and embracing difference. If young and old can do this, it opens up
the door to think more positively and to accept change.
What words of wisdom
do you think every child should grow up knowing?
Never stop loving yourself and always believe in yourself.
