My name is Rhea Vaughan-Parry and I am 15.
At first I wasn't sure I wanted to enter Miss Teen Caribbean UK but my mum thought it was a good idea to bring back my confidence again, (after being bullied in year 7 for being too keen to learn...)I didn't really have confidence in myself and I always thought that people were laughing or talking about me, I had low self esteem too. So I decided I would do it, still unsure but when I met the other contestants and Sherika (the woman in charge) I definitely knew I wanted to be apart of Miss Teen Caribbean UK. I had never done anything like this before and everyone was so kind I just couldn't wait to start my Miss Teen Caribbean UK journey.
Ballet, playing the flute, singing and modelling has definitely helped me so far. Ballet has helped me to perform well and be graceful, it has helped me to express through my body language and it helps you with your posture. Modelling has helped me become comfortable with being centre of attention. And playing the flute and singing has helped me to become patient as a person, you have to practice and practice to get something perfect which is what I do with a song/ flute piece.
My talents were recognised by my mum and my flute and singing teacher.
Definitely, working hard is important if you want to do really well. Working hard also pays off and is rewarding at the end. Personally, I feel it motivates me and makes me want to achieve even more things.
My role model is my grandma. She didn't have much of an education but still did really well in life and was successful, she even raised four children along with my grandad, I want to make her proud!
My tip to any budding talents would be to work hard and believe in yourself, you have to believe to succeed!
My dream job would be to own a chain of hotels worldwide especially around the Caribbean and America
Being apart of Miss Teen Caribbean is amazing and enjoyable, I've made lots of new friends and it's a new experience for me. We have many meetings which we discuss and practice. We get to practice walking up and down a stage, the pageant way! I can't give away too much... It would mean a lot to me if I won so please vote for me by simply liking the Miss Teen Caribbean Facebook page, then liking the the picture of me! Votes won't be counted if you don't like the page. Thank you
