PRESS RELEASE: Autumnal Style from Isossy Children

PRESS RELEASE: Autumnal Style from Isossy Children

Isossy Children offers a progressive and energetic collection for discerning kids and style fashionistas this Autumn. Maintaining its usual contemporary edge, the A/W Collection reflects modernity and off-centre styling.

Jumpsuits are big this season and Isossy Children is perfectly on trend with the Macon jumpsuit, a funky grey jumpsuit in jersey with a unique print trim and a sporty feel to it.

The ruched Ching-Ching dress in jersey remains a design classic with its bold, audacious design and remains a staple in the Isossy Children collection. The Isossy Children fitted denim “Biker” jacket is for the confident tween fashionista who wants to make a statement with her wardrobe. For the boys, the “sports trousers” have become a firm favourite, worn with contrasting print trim shirts in cotton. As well as the Isossy Children signature suits nicknamed “Little Sapeurs” and a range of funky slim cut denim jeans, the Isossy Boys collection maintains its effortless style.

The Isossy Children brand was founded in 2010 by Amanda Rabor. Amanda’s vision is to create a global fashion brand for children that will inspire confidence, creativity and self-belief for children growing up and living in a diverse, global culture.  In August 2014 Isossy Children launched the “I AM POSSIBLE” Campaign, highlighting the unification of children’s passion, style and individuality; empowering each and every child to say 'I Am Possible'.

Isossy Children launches its 'I Am Possible' campaign with The A/W 2014 Collection

Isossy Children is proud to launch The “I Am Possible” campaign, for its Autumn/Winter 2014 collection. “I Am Possible” is about the unification of our passion, style and individuality; empowering each and every child to say 'I Am Possible'

Isossy Children has always been about breaking down the visible and invisible cultural barriers that exist in the world through fashion. In cities across the world diversity should be celebrated and Isossy Children is at the forefront of this, creating global clothing for Babies, Kids and Tweens. It is no longer simply about uniting colours, it's about giving kids and parents choices through fashion and empowering the next generations.

The Isossy Children label creates stylish, meticulous collections drawn from African, Asian and Western influences. It's fun, it’s niche, it’s trend-setting.

When kids wear our clothes they are saying in the words of Audrey Hepburn, "Nothing is impossible. The word itself says 'I'm possible'"

Let children know their possibilities.
Let children scream 'I Am Possible'!

Isossy Children meets Fresh Kid Nation

We first met Shauna of Fresh Kid Nation at our Bloggers and Press Day in New York in March. Here we find out what inspired Shauna to start her business.

What inspired you to start your business?

I have been a costume designer and seamstress since I graduated from Syracuse University in 2006. I started designing children costumes in 2009 right after my son was born. I realized that I was able to bring my baby to rehearsals and meetings so continued working only with children. While shopping for costumes I began asking kids where do they shop or and noticed that each kid had a unique style. I decided to write a fashion blog that focused on children's wear companies,
celebrity kids style and upcoming trends in kids fashion. Fresh Kid Nation is a website that celebrates stylish kids from around the world.

What have been your favourite client experiences?

It's amazing that I have worked with so many different people! I have worked with non-profits,schools and large companies in New York City. I remember writing a blog about my spring break experience for MTV in 2006. I was given VIP passes for my friends and we went to all the nightclubs, parties and even had backstage access to meet the celebrities. It was the best writing job I ever had.
The most rewarding experience I have had was last summer working part time as an Summer Teacher in Brooklyn. My students created a blog and Tumblr about the camp and we received a phone call and email from the Deputy Commissioner of New York City's Youth Development office. It was an honor to be recognized by a high ranking individual.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?

Please don't be afraid to intern and do lots of research. The key to longevity is being knowledgeable about the industry, making connections and being nice.

What are your long term goals?

I will be completing a master's degree in Education until 2014. I eventually would like to develop the Blog into a major Urban children's fashion source and continue to design children's costumes. I know I will also establish a non-profit organization for art.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for
children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?

In order to grow as individual, one must be willing to learn about different ethnic groups, religions and cultures. The world would be a better place in general if we as a society take the time to understand each other instead of passing judgements.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?

Be kind to others and love yourself because your are beautiful!

The event was well attended and really well organised with lots of families and kiddie fashionistas.
Special thanks to The Kids Company for making this an event with purpose donations can be made online.

Isossy Children featured two looks on the catwalk; The Kokoro Dress  and The Omo Boys Suit. The label decided to go for co-ordinated black and white looks which is really a trending look for SS13. The Kokoro Dress is 100% silk and chiffon and the Omo Suit is in traditional African geometric Print. Isossy Children’s participation in the event was yet another example of its ethos of “Global clothing for kids”.

Isossy Children was founded by Amanda Rabor in 2010. Isossy Children is a celebration of colour, vivacity, global influences and fashion. It offers children and their parents’ choice, style and design, which is why many of the pieces are limited edition prints. "It keeps our style unique and fresh. Isossy Children gets fit with Kidz R Fit

Isossy Children loves to meet business owners who are passionate about raising the confidence of young children, Kidz R Fit not only raises child confidence but also makes them healthier along the way. Read about Tracey Davison's incredible business here.

What inspired you to start your business?
I was inspired to start Kidz R Fit after sadly realising how many adults had hated exercise at school and this had then led them to be unfit overweight adults. I wanted to encourage all children to learn to love exercise, children of all abilities. The main thing that came across with the adults was how they were made to look silly if they were not good at fitness or sport. We aim to improve confidence and respect through fitness.

What have been your favourite client experiences?
When a not so able child finds something they are good at and the rest of their peers see that and praise them. The boost in confidence that child gets, from being praised from those who are good at all things fitness, is enough to make you cry. Also finding an activity that the most reluctant child liked to do which was particularly true for our own unique programme Hoopstarz, which is an awesome Hula Hooping programme for kids and soon for adults.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?
Go to the best for training it will pay off. Treat people in the same industry as friends not as competition we can all learn from each other and there will always be enough clients to go around. When working with children always have Plan A ready but keep Plan B and C close by you may need them. Go for it its great fun and you get huge satisfaction. Look at franchise and license options ready made business for you.

What are your long term goals?
I am currently in the process of licensing our Hoopstarz programme I would love to see this go not only national but international so that we are helping to improve the health and fitness of children around the world. Our Kidz R Fit franchise launches in April meaning more people can run their own highly successful children’s health and fitness company and experience huge job satisfaction knowing they are helping improve the health of the next generation.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
Because everyone should be treated fairly and with respect, regardless of their background,  age or ability.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
“Manners cost nothing” and “treat others as you would want to be treated yourself”
