Isossy Children loves discovering useful resources for the parents who buy our clothes for their children, so we were super excited to meet Sally Hall and learn about her e-commerce site DorothyandTheodore.com. Read this great interview to find out about her business journey and be inspired!

What inspired you to start your business?

As parents, we have spent considerable amounts of time trawling the internet to find products that meet both our needs as parents and the desires of our children without us having to wholly compromise on our own sense of personal style, along with time wasted searching fruitlessly for that perfect, really special gift.   Recognising this gap in the market led us to the solution that is dorothyandtheodore.com, a multi-vendor e-commerce site where customers can purchase a wide range of beautiful products from a number of different sellers and only have to checkout once.

What have been your favourite client experiences?

We are really passionate about what we stand for as a brand and are fortunate to work with some amazing sellers who create beautiful things.  One of the gifts we have is a handmade traditional rag doll whose hair colour and style, eye and skin colour can all be made to match their owners.  We have had some wonderful feedback from customers who have bought this and other unique gifts for their loved ones, and it always creates a huge sense of satisfaction that we are able to share these truly special products with others.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?

Both the baby and the e-commerce industries are highly competitive.  It takes huge amounts of hard work and time to make a mark in this industry, but if you are passionate about what you do and really believe in your brand, it is absolutely worth the effort.

What are your long term goals?

We hope that www.dorothyandtheodore.com will become the one stop shopping solution for parents who, like us, think that practical can be beautiful and that gifts should be as unique as they are.

Our children are our future.  Their diversity in terms of their backgrounds, colour, race, creed, beliefs, religions and all round individual personalities is what makes the world a wonderful place to live.  We can learn so much from our grandparents, parents and peers but, at Dorothy & Theodore, we believe that we learn the most form our children. 

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?

Believe in yourself.  Stand up for your morals, your goals, your beliefs and never be someone you are not.

Isossy Children at Global Kids Fashion Week

The first Global Kids Fashion Week took place 19^th- 20^th March and Isossy Children was proud to take part in this ground-breaking high profile fashion event.   Isossy Children started off the week with an exclusive press day event at superb Wesley Hotel (MIC Centre) in London’s Euston.
The event was well attended and really well organised with lots of families and kiddie fashionistas.

Isossy Children featured two looks on the catwalk; The Kokoro Dress  and The Omo Boys Suit. The label decided to go for co-ordinated black and white looks which is really a trending look for SS13. The Kokoro Dress is 100% silk and chiffon and the Omo Suit is in traditional African geometric Print. Isossy Children’s participation in the event was yet another example of its ethos of “Global clothing for kids”.

Isossy  Children prides itself on catering for the ever changing needs of its customers, and the new collection for spring summer 2013 has just a little bit of everything to make it truly special.  The brand is honoured to stand by its ‘Made in England’ manufacturing ethos, combined with the international African, Asian and Western cultures.  The fabrics and styling of these countries are evident within this vivacious collection.
