I Am Possible with Darien Douglas

My name is Darien Douglas, I’m 7 years old, and I live in Brooklyn NY. My favorite hobbies are reading, gymnastics, and having fun adventures with my little brother. I just started the 3rd grade, and I am so excited. I love school, and I always do really well with my school work. I also go to Barbizon for Acting/Modeling classes. I want to be famous one day. I love attention, and I have an awesome smile. My mom helps me prepare for auditions. Modeling/Acting is hard work, but I really do love it. When I grow up, I would like to be a Scientist, and Soccer Player.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by great athletes like Gabby Douglas. In the beginning, I loved her because we had the same name. It made me feel famous. After I watched her movie, I was inspired by her because she’s a great gymnast. She worked so hard to pursue her dreams of going to the Olympics. I am also a gymnast. I’ve been taking gymnastics since I was 15 months old. I don’t think I’ll ever make it to the Olympics, but I hope to be as good as her when I’m 16!

What are your dreams for the future?
In the future, I would like to be an important scientist like George Washington Carver. I want to be a scientist because I want to study, and experiment with things that can help contribute to a better world. I wouldn’t mind studying marine life. I love the ocean, and the living beings within it.

Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my mother because she is the smartest person I know. She knows a little about everything, and she cooks really yummy food. My mom is a Speech-Language Pathologist, and I think that’s pretty cool. She always says giving someone the power of communication is an amazing feeling. I love watching her at work. My Dad is also my role model because he is a Police Officer. Sometimes I’m angry because my dad has to work so many hours. However, my mom said that it’s her job to take care of us, so he can take care of the people. I think it’s awesome that my dad protects NYC. He’s like Batman…or maybe Batdad!

Please finish this sentence:
I am possible because…. I am free to be me. What makes me who I am, is what makes me special. I love being the silly, intelligent, and charming boy that I am. I love that my mom allows me to wear “weird” colored clothing, and sneakers. I love being different. When I started at my new school, other kids were mean to me. I used to try to be like them. My mom told me that I need to live my life for me, and embrace who I am. Now, I have so many friends, and I didn’t have to pretend to be someone else to get them. I am possible because I am a black boy who will grow up to be an accomplished scientist. I am possible because I use my imagination to create amazing short stories about adventures with my little brother. I am possible because I am an individual.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
I think all kids should just have fun, and not take life too seriously. Eat lots of chicken nuggets, eat your veggies (only because my mom is giving me the side eye), and drink Ting! Also, it’s important to exercise. I don’t like running, but I do Karate, Gymnastics, and Swimming. When you exercise, you feel good, and healthy. Kids should also read everyday. I love reading because you can learn about anything from a book! My mom said that more than anything, she wanted my brother and I to love reading. We’re a reading family. Everyone should just read! You can even read when you’re using the bathroom.

I AM POSSIBLE WITH KRISTIAN WRIGHT

Hi my name is Kristian Anthony Wright. I AM POSSIBLE! I am an 11 year old 6th grader from Memphis Tennessee. I am a fashion runway model and an actor.  In the fashion world, I am known as "MASTERPEACE" This name, MASTERPEACE, is fitting because not only am I a work of art, but I also serve a Master (God), and He gives me Peace in every struggle that I go through.  I have ripped many runways in Memphis and have traveled to Orlando Florida and Houston Texas to participate in fashion shows. I have won first place trophies for my modeling talent. I also have 12 acting credits which include short films, featured films, TV commercials, musicals, theater and television series.  I am active in my church's youth choir and the mission ministry where I help provide sacked lunches to economically disadvantaged citizens. I am also a member of The Stax Jr. Music Academy in which I sing in the choir.

What inspires you?
I love being around happy people. When I perform, weather it is acting or modeling, I get joy out of the reaction that people have towards me. It makes me feel really good.
What are your dreams for the future?
My dreams for the future is to become rich and famous. I want to be an actor, model, singer, dancer and become a fashion designer. I promised my Mom that I would by her a mansion and a new car. I also want to appear in the television show, "Little Big Shots". I would love to show Mr. Steve Harvey my skills and show him how to rip the runway.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my Mom, Valerie Wright. She takes good care of my sisters and I. My Mom has amazing strength. My Mom is raising us all alone. She suffers from systemic lupus and have been fighting it and winning. Even though her mobility is limited due to lupus, she takes us to school and to our activities and appointments. My Mom have been battling lupus for 23 years, however, she pour every ounce of strength into me and my sisters. I also admire my mom because when I was one year old, my sister was 5 and my other sister was 2, she took us into her home and heart as foster children and two years later, she adopted us as her own and we became a forever family.
I am possible...
I am possible because I was created in God's image. I am possible because my mom makes things possible for me and my family. I am possible because through me, others will become possible.
Why do you like Isossy Children clothing?
I like them because they are stylish and unique. I love to look fresh and these clothes delivers.
What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
You should obey your parents, be respectful, don't be afraid to ask for help and do well in school.
