Isossy Children meets Punkin Patch Interiors

Isossy Children was so excited to discover the high end children's furniture brand "Punkin Patch Interiors" this year. In this feature we meet founder Toks Aruoture to find out what makes her business so special.

What inspired you to start your business?
I was inspired to start Punkin Patch Interiors after I had my son, the idea of going back to a job I hated didn’t sit well with me. In addition I noticed there was no provision for high end, bespoke nurseries and children’s rooms in the UK. It was surprising that the only options celebrities had for their babies nurseries were high street brands.

What have been your favourite client experiences?
There are quite a few memorable ones. We were given the task of creating a luxury nursery for a President’s London home in 4 days. Our typical nursery takes 8 to 12 weeks to pull together as most items are made to order from scratch. The fact that we pulled it off still amazes me, especially as it was the week the Olympics began.

Punkin Patch Interiors
What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?
Do your research to find a niche. There are many stores selling the same items, so you have to find that unique element that will set you apart from others. It may be an additional service that no one else offers, or your excellent customer service.
Punkin Patch Interiors

What are your long term goals?
To use my growing business as a platform to inspire and mentor the youth and young adults;  I believe everyone has a gift and we will not be truly happy unless we use them.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
Our country is becoming more culturally diverse by the day.  The latest census records show 14% of the population (7.5 million) in England and Wales are foreign born and the figures are rising. Each national has a unique background which adds tremendous value to our communities.  Children exposed to multi-cultures have a more realistic, balanced and tolerant view of life than those raised without this awareness.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
Every child has a unique and special gift that only they can do excellently. We are all different because we are all special in a unique way.  One of the most important gifts you can offer a child is the gift of authenticity, be yourself.

Isossy Children Profiles iTaggy

This week Isossy Children meets Clare Argent, The Mumpreneur behind the adorable iTaggy Brand - unqique handmade baby comforters and blankets.

What inspired you to start your business?
My children were my initial inspiration.  I started making items for them.  My partner David was the driving force behind me starting a business, he suggested it over a glass of wine on a New Year’s eve and we started working on it that night.

What have been your favourite client experiences?
A lot of my business is mail order, so it is not often I get to meet a client, but when I do it is so lovely, especially seeing Children so in love with one of my items, it brings such joy!  I recently had a Mum contact me in despair, they had lost her daughters iTaggy comforter on holiday; she took it everywhere and never went to bed without her snug.  We set to making an identical one immediately and dispatched it the same day, now they can all get some sleep!

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?
You need to love what you do, believe in your product or service and believe in yourself.  Ensure that you have a unique selling point, or you won’t stand out from the crowd!  Most important of all, is ensuring that you preform and keep the customer happy and updated at all times.

What are your long term goals?
To continue making and to develop new products and designs, I am happy to go wherever the iTaggy journey takes me.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
This is so important, new generations need to be educated in understanding diverse cultures, religions, disabilities, the list is endless,  to ensure that we grow to respect one another for who and what we are and not to judge unfairly or discriminate or to judge at all.#

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
To live, to love, to laugh and to enjoy.
Smile each day, life is too short not to.

Isossy Children to host special fashion show at The Screen Nation Awards 2013

Taking place on Sunday 17th February in the luxurious Westminster Ballroom of the Park Plaza Hotel, the 8th Screen Nation Awards returns.  Hosted by the hilarious comic actor Lateef Lovejoy and the award winning presenter Leah Charles-King the event is set to be an amazing showcase of multicultural talent in the UK.  Isossy Children is only the second fashion show in the history of Screen Nation Awards, perfectly timed during London Fashion Week. Charles Thompson MBE was particularly drawn to Isossy Children’s focus on global fashion for children.

The industry backed Achievement Awards, presented by a host of well-known faces, will recognize both audience favourites and emerging British film & TV talent. The ceremony will feature the cream of the black British film & TV scene alongside established mainstream stars from the worlds of sport, music, fashion media and politics. London 2012 gold medallists, former Olympic champions, Premiership footballers will be amongst the many surprise guest presenters bringing glamour to the night.

Isossy Children was founded by Amanda Rabor in 2010. Isossy Children is a celebration of colour, vivacity, global influences and fashion. It offers children and their parents’ choice, style and design, which is why many of the pieces are limited edition prints. "It keeps our style unique and fresh. We want you to visit the website frequently with the knowledge that our styles and colours will change offering parents new ranges for all occasions", says Amanda.
Entering its 7th season, childrenswear brand ISOSSY CHILDREN continues to be the forerunner in global clothing for kids. The range sees lots of Tween pieces for girls and boys (2-12 yrs) that look as though they've just stepped off the catwalk. Key styles such as the all print pant suits for girls and boys is going to be a real player within the up and coming collections.

Isossy Children Profiles Hoobynoo World

In this interview we meet Chiara Stone, founder of Hoobynoo World an adorable jewellery brand based in the UK.

What inspired you to start your business?
A number of things; the idea came one day when I was doodling animals for my son to keep him occupied whilst we were waiting for food to arrive in a café. He loved them and I was making up little characters to go with the drawings. This gave me the idea of turning those drawings into jewellery and having each one come with their own personality profile.
I also wanted to create a business that would fit in around my family life and allowed me to be creative.

Hoobynoo world

What have been your favourite client experiences?
I think it has to be when I am contacted by a happy customer who has been given the necklace as a gift and the recipient has loved it. I’ve had some really lovely comments so far and that always makes me proud.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?
Be prepared to work hard, believe in your product, and don’t give up. Embracing social media is also a must.
Hoobynoo world

What are your long term goals?
World domination!  Seriously though, I would like to expand the number of retailers selling my product and also expand my range into other areas such as children’s clothing.

IsossyChildren celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?
I think it is important to be individual, I think this creates a strong character. Whatever age you are feeling like an individual can provide you with both confidence and inspiration.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?
Don’t worry; be happy J
