Filmscreening Natural
Woman in Amsterdam
On July
21st the documentary Natural Woman will be screened for the second time
in
Amsterdam. In this short film African-American women and girls share
their
stories of pain and triumph during their natural hair journey. Prominent philosophical and psychological experts give their insight on the role of
society in how people of colour define beauty in terms of hairstyle. The
documentary will be introduced by a presentation about black hair
history.
After the movie there will be an online discussion with filmmaker Cindy
Hurst.
This will be broadcast on American radio.
Tickets include drink, a present
and a chance to win a prize at the raffle. Prizes are sponsored by She
