What inspired you to start your business?

I wanted the flexibility to be able to work from home whilst my children are still young.

What have been your favourite client experiences?

We are lucky to have two types of clients. The clients that sell on our online marketplace and the clients that buy. We call them our Community and are very lucky to have a very engaged and supportive community behind us.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?

To do a lot of research. Never think that you can start a web based business without knowing the ins and outs. There is a lot of ground to cover and we are continually learning daily. Because the game plan keeps changing you need to be flexible enough to move with the times.

 

What are your long term goals?

We hope to expand into New Zealand and other countries in the future. As well as develop a mentoring program for small business start-ups as part of our supporting the community vision.

Isossy Children celebrates diversity through global clothing for children. Why do you think diversity matters for every generation?

Absolutely. Having the ability to be diverse offers you experiences and knowledge outside of your environment. It allows you to grow and develop because you have had more exposure.

What words of wisdom do you think every child should grow up knowing?

If you think you can, you can! Be the best you can and love what you do. The most important thing to be is Happy!

Isossy Children at Global Kids Fashion Week

The first Global Kids Fashion Week took place 19^th- 20^th March and Isossy Children was proud to take part in this ground-breaking high profile fashion event.   Isossy Children started off the week with an exclusive press day event at superb Wesley Hotel (MIC Centre) in London’s Euston.
The event was well attended and really well organised with lots of families and kiddie fashionistas.
Special thanks to The Kids Company for making this an event with purpose donations can be made online.

Isossy Children featured two looks on the catwalk; The Kokoro Dress  and The Omo Boys Suit. The label decided to go for co-ordinated black and white looks which is really a trending look for SS13. The Kokoro Dress is 100% silk and chiffon and the Omo Suit is in traditional African geometric Print. Isossy Children’s participation in the event was yet another example of its ethos of “Global clothing for kids”.

Isossy  Children prides itself on catering for the ever changing needs of its customers, and the new collection for spring summer 2013 has just a little bit of everything to make it truly special.  The brand is honoured to stand by its ‘Made in England’ manufacturing ethos, combined with the international African, Asian and Western cultures.  The fabrics and styling of these countries are evident within this vivacious collection.

Isossy Children was founded by Amanda Rabor in 2010. Isossy Children is a celebration of colour, vivacity, global influences and fashion. It offers children and their parents’ choice, style and design, which is why many of the pieces are limited edition prints. "It keeps our style unique and fresh. We want you to visit the website frequently with the knowledge that our styles and colours will change offering parents new ranges for all occasions", says Amanda.

Isossy Children Profiles Hoobynoo World

In this interview we meet Chiara Stone, founder of Hoobynoo World an adorable jewellery brand based in the UK.

What inspired you to start your business?

A number of things; the idea came one day when I was doodling animals for my son to keep him occupied whilst we were waiting for food to arrive in a café. He loved them and I was making up little characters to go with the drawings. This gave me the idea of turning those drawings into jewellery and having each one come with their own personality profile.

I also wanted to create a business that would fit in around my family life and allowed me to be creative.

What have been your favourite client experiences?

I think it has to be when I am contacted by a happy customer who has been given the necklace as a gift and the recipient has loved it. I’ve had some really lovely comments so far and that always makes me proud.

What advice would you give to someone starting up in your industry?

Be prepared to work hard, believe in your product, and don’t give up. Embracing social media is also a must.

What are your long term goals?

World domination!  Seriously though, I would like to expand the number of retailers selling my product and also expand my range into other areas such as children’s clothing.

I think it is important to be individual, I think this creates a strong character. Whatever age you are feeling like an individual can provide you with both confidence and inspiration.
